New headset amplifier from nflow reduces cost of digital dictation systems

nflow Software announced today the availability of a headset amplifier that should enable the use of most existing tape machine headsets with new digital dictation systems. The amplifier may also be used to enhance the sound produced by a PC sound card when it is found not suitable for a secretary to use, saving the cost of a new sound card.

Available immediately, the small and compact amplifier sits on the desk between the sound card in the PC and the headset used by the secretary. Powered either through the USB port or via a low cost mains adapter, the amplifier is also capable of being used with traditional single earpiece headsets that are often not suitable for direct use with PC sound cards. By placing the amplifier on the desk this removes the need for the secretary to plug the headset in to the back of the PC. This makes it much easier for them to move between PCs whilst reducing the chance of dislodging important connection cables.
